March 15 bob moogi'm a huge fan of the moog synthesiser.. i've got a similar one based on it. i'm dissapointed to only figure out NOW that bob moog's last name rhymes with VOUGE. i'm such a moron. and so are the other people whom i've made music with over the years who didn't correct me.
on another note, bob moog's death left behind an instrument yet to be completed. very cool.. i hope something comes of it.
"Think theremin -- from quavering soundtracks of cheesy sci-fi movies -- crossed with a baseball organ. Throw in some psychedelic chemicals, and you begin to get the idea." March 12 fritz the cathere's a blast from the past for me.. from the movie nine lives of fritz the cat, fritz himself says this just a bit before blasting off to mars:
"gentlemen, i've been up and down the four corners of this big old world and i've seen it all, and i've done it all.. i've faught many a good man and laid many a good woman and i've had riches, fame and adventure too. yes i've stood eyeball to eyeball with death countless times and never, never once squinted. well i've tasted life to the fullest and still my tortured soul cries out more, more, oh shit, oh, oh god can there be any more?"
March 07 huh?wow, it's been a while, hasn't it? to be honest i haven't been in the mood since my google troubles. i've been focusing my blogging attention on http://breakfastblogger.com these days. come by and say hi!
i got this from cheezmo back in june: http://gorillamask.net/pullmyfinger.shtml
the greatest 50 gadgets: http://www.pcworld.com/resource/printable/article/0,aid,123950,00.asp
sorry, i've got lots more stored away, but they'll have to wait for another day :P
February 23 london headline: a mob of enraged athiests rioted in london after a blank sheet of paper was found on a cartoonist's desk
thx to myst for pointing me to that. February 16 madder than a yak in heat..i am no longer being indexed by google or msn search. i'm looking into this matter now but if i can't find a solution soon it will be the end of this blog. if people can't find me by typing "superfluous nipple" or "peabody nipple" or whatever, there is no point in keeping this blog around as my friends and family won't be able to find me easily without knowing my URL.
i have done research into why this has happend and i'm stumped. here's some basic info: http://www.want2learn.com/traffic/removed_from_google_index_.html
i'm still listed on yahoo.. what's up with that?
have the recent msn spaces changes caused this? you may have noticed that your msn blog is no longer at spaces.msn.com/members/yourname but is now spaces.msn.com/yourname. i don't know if that is the issue here. the only thing that i can think of that may have caused this is my linking to breakfast blogger, which doesn't make any sense at all. crosslinking is seen as a practice to artificially improve your page ranking, but in my case it is innocent. i will probably have to remove all links to breakfast blogger to test that theory out, but i want some feedback from msn before i do that.
any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. leaving msn spaces would suck since i've made so many friends here, but starting a new personal blog on my own isn't such a bad idea. February 13 baught me a faucet LED..ah, some very practical gimmicky geeky goodness:
i picked this sucker up for 20 bucks. i was rather dissapointed to find out it didn't fit in my bathroom sink so i had to install it in the kitchen. once installed, it didn't work. i took it apart, grabbed my multimeter and figured there was a short in the battery comartment. i wrapped the batteries in electrical tape, tinkered around a bit and eventually got it going. doing the dishes is fun but too much hot water causes it to stay on. i had to take it apart and let it dry out to get it working again. fun fun.. i'll prolly stick the old fixture back on in the morning :P February 09 nose picker..a few mornings ago while waiting for the bus i was treated to the lovely sight of someone jamming his fingers in his nose while driving. he was having a field day. and to make things worse: he was EATING IT too.. fingers in his nose and then in his mouth.
i couldn't believe it. i let out an audible gasp. i don't get it.. does this guy think that just because he is in his car no one can see him?
check out these nice panoramic pics of paris at night. found via giant monster. here's a tip that will make those pics appear better in internet explorer: in tools>internet options>advanced, scroll down to the multimedia options and uncheck "enable automatic image resizing". the pics will then load in all their fullsize glory.
check out some interesting pictures from japan by a guy who teaches english over there. i totally love the stuff this guy writes about his experiences there. if you're someone planning on doing some TESL in the east, or just curious, check out his journal here. you'll laugh, you'll cry.
here's a great looking urban exploration website: the urban landscape project. some real fan-frikken-tastic photography there. woo.
February 01 beware....of the evil lamp. that picure taken by mark frauenfelder at boingboing. following that link gives some more info on that pic. ugh, this new msn spaces feels like a bloated dinosaur. kinda like elvis before he died. i don't know how much more of this i can take. here's some wild looking pencil carvings. found on digg. here's what it's like to travel thru a city approaching the speed of light. i *love* how the japanese do their emoties. i've been looking for a good tutorial: (._. ) ( ._.) <-- that's me looking. i found this. neat website of cool and innovative things called smartstuff. here's a list of on-line games that "offer a good experience." found via ircimages.com don't forget to drop by breakfastblogger for the best meal of the day ^_^ cheers y'all - keep on keeping on.. January 28 don't harsh my mellow..grrr, i'm not too happy with the new changes to msn spaces. my profile pic had to be changed to fit the tight 96x96 restrictions and the links in my blog don't open in a new window anymore. tip: right click on a link and select "open in new window." spaces is as slow as molasses and messenger live beta is butt ugly. meh. at least spaces is more compatible with firefox now.
check out this super freaky illusion. (video link) thanks to adam for that.. more info on that illusion here.

January 22 snowstorm in ottawai woke up this morning and pulled aside the curtains to find a huge blanket of snow. it was still coming down hard and i was determined to get a breakfast in me. so i ventured out across the bridge to ottawa from hull and took some pics to share:
turning onto wellington from sussex heading west..
..and about to turn left onto elgin street
heading down elgin street..
i was stopped at an intersection a bit further up when i heard some honking and saw an SUV come sliding thru the intersection from the left with all its wheels locked.. he was going way too fast but managed to avoid a car pulling out on the other side of the intersection. he was lucky..
i parked nearby and ventured off on foot to my latest breakfast blogger escapade. make sure to check it out!
on the way back i pulled over to take this shot:
snowy goodness..
heading back north on elgin..
a nice shot of what it was like a rideau street..
and then back to hull just before we hit the alexandra bridge..
and into hull.. what a gorgeous day.. January 18 groove is in the heart..wow, i haven't updated in a while. i've been pretty busy these days with a new job and i guess you can say i've had a case of bloggers block. no worries.. it's just a phase. for now, enjoy some pictures from an old tune that i love:
oh la la la la la la la la la..
dig..
groove is in the heart baby..
oh yea..
uh huh..
i coudln't ask for another..
i have just discovered that spaces is now taking out my HTML code to open links in a new window. i can't understand why. to get around this, just right click on a link and select "open link in a new window." that way, this window will stay open while you explore the link without having to backtrack here to my other links ;)
make sure to check out breakfast blogger.. spanky and i have updated recently!
let them sing it for you.. type in some words, it comes back as sung text.. fun fun! (via boingboing)
